Tierra del Sol is a Permaculture farm and sustainable-living center located in Tlacochahuaya, within the central valleys of Oaxaca, Mexico.
The site was designed based on the principles of permaculture and one of our primary goals is to experiment and promote sustainable living alternatives.
In contrast to our modern culture, which is often based on exploitation of nature, competition among people and irresponsible consumption of resources, permaculture seeks to create sustainable human habitats through care and respect for the natural environment, and by practicing cooperation with the magnificent and delicate web of life.
With these principles in heart and mind, we are working on projects that contribute to the health of the earth and the health of our community. We grow organic food, help restore the ecological balance of our site and share the lessons we have learned with others interested in sustainable living practices.

This website is designed so you can explore the principles of sustainability being applied as we develop Tierra del Sol and look at some of the practical methods we have used. If you are interested in learning more about our project, you can come to one of our guided visits, enroll in one of the workshops or participate in the internship program. We hope that this information will be useful in supporting and promoting a new culture of caring for our beautiful planet and for the greater community of living beings.
